Our adventure started at Horseshoe Bay Beach and I am SO glad we ended up at this beach first. Why?! Because this beach is the ultimate WOW factor. This is probably the most famous beach in Bermuda, and it’s easy to see why.

The sand is a soft pink color, which looks incredible against the clear blue water. Having traveled all over the U.S. (including Hawaii), we were pleasantly surprised at how clean and well-maintained the beach was especially after all of the cruisers left for the day. And, even though it’s extremely popular, it didn’t feel too overcrowded because the beach is huge.

We spent most of the day here, just lounging on the sand and taking in the views. The cute cove at Horseshoe Bay added a little romantic getaway vibe to the trip. There’s also a little café where you can grab snacks and drinks, which was super convenient.

If you’re into snorkeling, bring your gear because the water is calm and clear, making it perfect for exploring underwater. Don’t forget your underwater camera!

2. Warwick Long Bay: A Hidden Gem with a Wide Beach

Next, we headed to Warwick Long Bay. It’s not as crowded as Horseshoe Bay, which made it feel like our little secret spot. The beach stretches for about half a mile, so there’s plenty of space to find a quiet spot. The waves here are a bit stronger, so it’s great for bodyboarding if you’re into that.

One thing we loved about Warwick Long Bay was the natural beauty. The cliffs and rock formations are stunning, and there are some trails you can hike for even better views. We spent a good amount of time walking around and taking pictures. It felt like we were in a postcard.

There are some good restaurants nearby, like the Seabreeze Lounge located inside of the Lido Complex, if you want to grab a bite to eat, and have a nice seafood dinner with a view of the ocean. It’s the perfect end to the day and very romantic!

We often crave a good digital detox after we’ve been in the grind at work day after day. We intentionally plan a vacation where no one can get a hold of us.

National parks aren’t just pretty places – they’re living museums of natural and human history. Taking some time to learn about the park’s backstory can make your visit so much more interesting.

• Read up on the park’s formation (spoiler alert: it usually involves millions of years and some seriously cool geology)
• Learn about the Indigenous peoples who called the area home long before it was a park.
• Check out any historic structures or archaeological sites within the park

Don’t Forget the Night Sky

Here’s something many first-time visitors overlook: national parks are often fantastic places for stargazing. Many are designated as Dark Sky Parks, meaning they’re perfect for seeing the Milky Way in all its glory.

• Bring a star chart or download a stargazing app.
• Pack a red-light flashlight to preserve your night vision.
• Check if the park offers any nighttime ranger programs or star parties.

Be Prepared for All Weather Conditions

I know we touched on this earlier, but it’s worth mentioning again: weather in the national parks can be wildly unpredictable and completely different in various locations of the park. 

It could be rainy at one end of the park, or you could drive 30 minutes to a slightly higher elevation, and it’s snowing. You just never know. 

For example, we visited Glacier National Park in July. You’d think it would be mild weather, maybe even somewhat warm. Nope. The higher you drive into the park, the snowier it gets. And that’s just one example.

• Be prepared for sudden changes – that sunny day can turn stormy really quickly.
• Remember that temperatures can vary dramatically between day and night, especially in desert parks.
